Overview

Sean Makes Stuff ("we," "our," or "us") builds apps for iOS, macOS, and Chrome. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data our apps access, how it's used, and what choices you have.

The short version: we collect as little data as possible and don't sell anything to anyone.

Golf Around Me

Location Data

Golf Around Me uses your device's location to find nearby golf courses. Your location is:

  • Processed on-device and sent to Apple's MapKit services to search for golf courses
  • Never stored on any server we operate
  • Never shared with third parties beyond what's required for map and search functionality
  • Only accessed when you're actively using the app (no background location tracking)

You can revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings.

Weather Data

The app fetches weather information for golf course locations. This request includes the course's coordinates (not yours) and does not include any personal information.

In-App Purchases

Premium purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not process or store any payment information.

Local Data Storage

Golf day notes, check-ins, scores, and reminders are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you use iCloud, this data may sync across your devices through your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to this data.

Analytics & Tracking

Our apps do not include any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks. We don't track what you do in the app.

Third-Party Services

Our apps use the following Apple-provided services:

  • MapKit — for map display and location search (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
  • WeatherKit / Weather APIs — for weather data at course locations
  • StoreKit — for in-app purchase processing

Children's Privacy

Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as we release new apps or features. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
